How to Automate TradingView Strategy into Hyperliquid (Full System)

Hyperliquid has established itself as a leading decentralized exchange (DEX) for perpetual futures, offering deep order books, high throughput, and zero gas fees for trading. This guide details how to build a fully automated bridge connecting TradingView alert webhooks directly to Hyperliquid's Layer 1 blockchain.

Advantages of Hyperliquid Automation

Traditional centralized exchanges (CEXs) pose counterparty risks, while traditional DEXs on Ethereum or Arbitrum can suffer from high gas fees and slow block times. Hyperliquid resolves these challenges:

  • **Self-Custody**: Keep control of your assets in your Arbitrum/Web3 wallet.
  • **Sub-Second Execution**: Order matching takes place on Hyperliquid's custom L1 chain in under 200ms.
  • **Unified Account Structure**: Trade dozens of crypto perpetuals (BTC, ETH, altcoins) using a single USDC margin balance.
  • Setup Architecture

    1. Generating a Read-Write API Wallet

    For security, do not use your primary Web3 private key directly in your trading script. Instead, create a dedicated API wallet:

    1. Log into **Hyperliquid DEX** and connect your MetaMask or WalletConnect.

    2. Navigate to the account settings and select the **API Keys** section.

    3. Generate a new API Wallet. This creates a secondary wallet address that is authorized to sign trading transactions (orders, cancels) on behalf of your main account, but *cannot* withdraw funds.

    4. Export the API wallet's private key for use in your web server config.

    2. Implementing the Python or Node.js Webhook Server

    Set up a server (e.g., on a VPS like AWS or DigitalOcean) to act as your webhook listener. When TradingView sends a webhook, your script uses the Hyperliquid SDK to sign and submit the transaction:

    # Example using Hyperliquid Python SDK

    from hyperliquid.utils import constants

    from hyperliquid.exchange import Exchange

    import eth_account

    # Initialize exchange client with API wallet private key

    account = eth_account.Account.from_key("your_api_private_key")

    exchange = Exchange(account, constants.MAINNET)

    # Place order

    order_result = exchange.order("BTC", True, 0.01, 65000, {"limit": "Gtc"})

    3. Setting Up TradingView Webhook Alerts

    Configure your TradingView strategy to send alert messages in JSON format to your server URL. An example payload:

    {

    "side": "buy",

    "coin": "BTC",

    "sz": 0.05,

    "px": 65000,

    "is_market": true

    }

    Monitoring and Risk Management

    To maintain system health:

  • Configure Discord or Telegram notifications to receive instant updates when orders are placed or rejected.
  • Enable automatic liquidation alerts and check your account leverage settings periodically.
  • Always use isolated margin if you are running experimental or high-leverage strategies.
